Dollywood Flash Flooding Forces Evacuations

Torrential Rains Cause Park Entrance Road Collapse

One Person Injured in Severe Storm

A powerful thunderstorm swept through Dolly Parton's Dollywood theme park in Tennessee over the weekend, triggering flash flooding that forced patrons to evacuate.

Videos from inside the park show fast-moving floodwaters inundating the park's streets and buildings. Pigeon Forge Police reported that a local road at the park's entrance collapsed as a result of the rainfall.

Park officials confirmed that at least one person suffered injuries. The extent of the damage to the park is still being assessed, but eyewitness accounts indicate significant flooding and property damage.

The National Weather Service issued multiple flash flood warnings for Sevier County, where Dollywood is located. Heavy rainfall in the area caused rivers and streams to rise rapidly, contributing to the dangerous flooding at the park.

Emergency responders are on the scene assisting with evacuations and cleanup efforts. Visitors who were unable to leave the park before the flooding are being advised to remain in safe areas and avoid any potential hazards.

The theme park will remain closed until further notice while authorities work to ensure the safety of guests and staff. Further updates on the situation are expected as they become available.
